Vision Camp
What is Vision Camp?
Youth for Truth has been presenting Vision camp since 1998. Our first Vision Camp was held in Ensenada, Mexico. This camp has proven to impact youth from all over the world in many different ways. Vision is a camp with a purpose. Most summer camps are focused on ourselves. Not that it is bad, but much time is spent on fun, activities and memories. This camp is focused on getting our eyes off of ourselves and onto others and ultimately getting our eyes on Jesus. The awesome thing is that it ends up being really fun and full of activities as well.
Vision is a one week summer camp designed to capture the attention of youth while giving them a vision to reach those who don’t know Christ. Our goal is for the cstudentsto see God’s heart, develop a desire to share their faith and to acquire a burning passion to do their part in reaching the lost.
A big part of Vision Camp is exposing youth to what is going on the world and to expand their world view. We invite guest speakers to share what they have seen and experienced and to stir up a passion to pray for our brothers and sisters in the world as well as to pray for the people who don’t yet know Jesus as their Savior in foreign Countries.
What do we do at Vision Camp?
We keep a very structured schedule. The youth will be divided into groupswhich they spend time discussing all that God is teaching them. This is a great time to build close friends. We purposely take them out of their comfort zones so that they can depend on God and grow as they trust God. We provide team building games, small group accountability, awesome Biblically based teachings, passionate worship, and lot's of fun. If a parent or youth pastor would like to see a sample schedule, I would be happy to send one.
What about our staff?
We have a well trained staff of adults as well as older youth. All of our staff are under close accountability and trained to work with youth. Alumni who have attended Vision Camp and are 17 years old or older can apply to be one of our camp counselors. Every morning all our staff and leaders meet and get council and prayer for each other and for all the campers. It is important to us that our camp is well staffed. If you are a youth pastor, you are welcome to join us on our staff, or you can send your youth and our staff will take good care of your youth.
Where is Vision Camp?
We are thrilled to hold our camp at Camp Wynola near Julian, California. Julian is in Northern San Diego County. The elevation level is 4,235 feet. The weather is warm and comfortable. The food is delicious and most important; the Spirit of the Lord is in this place. You can go to their website if you want to know more about the facility. www.campwynola.com
Who can come to Vision Camp?
We gear our camp for both Jr. High and High school. The students who are entering 6th grade through 8th grade will be on a track for Jr. High and students, who are entering 9th grade through 12th grade, will partake in our high school track. If there is a special circumstance in which needs an acceptation to our division of groups we will be flexible. For example; all of your students and friends are in Jr. High and you have only one or two High School who would like to be in with their friends.
When is Vision Camp and how much does it cost?
The dates are June 21st - 26th. If you register by June 6th the cost is $225. After that the cost is $250. After arrival, you will only need extra money if you want to purchase items from the snack bar. Visit youthfortruth.org to download your application today
